What is a Sitemap?
An XML sitemap is a file that informs search engines about URLs and other site data. It makes discovery easier, but it does not guarantee crawling, indexing, or ranking.
These files are useful for crawlers and search engine crawlers, which will use the information we provide in the sitemap file to perform their crawls.
A sitemap is defined by a key protocol at https://www.sitemaps.org/es/protocol.html and consists of a series of XML tags, a language used to build information. With this file, we can optionally provide search engines with additional data on each page of our website.
This protocol has successfully become a standard supported and recommended by the main search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc.). Including a sitemap on a domain does not guarantee that search engines will index all the pages we list there, but we recommend using it to crawl information in a smarter way, passing along additional information about the structure and updates of our site.
