What is an algorithm?
An algorithm is a defined procedure for completing a task or solving a problem. It can be implemented through code; its quality depends on the objectives, the data, and the conditions under which it is used.
Algorithms can be implemented through programming languages because the same algorithm or flowchart can be represented in different programming languages, in other words, it is a set of commands that comes before programming.
From this perspective, a program is nothing more than a series of complex algorithms that are ordered and organized by a programming language to later be executed on a computer.
The program that results from that action is a logical sequence of instructions for performing specific tasks on a computer.
There are also qualitative and quantitative algorithms that relate to their structure, input, processing, and output. These are very common in mathematics and physics and form the basis of guides, manuals, and more. In short, an algorithm is used to solve a problem step by step. It is a series of ordered, sequential instructions for directing a specific operation.
