What is Google Tag Manager?
Google Tag Manager is a tool for managing measurement and integration tags. It makes deployment easier, but it requires testing and controls; it does not replace defining what should be measured.
Once you add a small snippet of Tag Manager code to your project, you can easily and safely implement benchmarking and analytics tag configuration options from the web-based user interface.
Once you install Tag Manager, your site or app can communicate with the platform’s servers.
This way, you can use Tag Manager’s web user interface to configure your tracking tags, define triggers that fire your tags when certain events occur, and create variables that can be used to simplify and automate tag configuration.
A container is a collection of tags, triggers, variables, and related configurations installed on a website or mobile app. Tag management containers can replace all other manually coded tags on your website or app, including Google Ads, Google Analytics, Floodlight, and third-party tags.
