What is Android?
Android is a platform and operating system used on mobile devices and other equipment. To develop applications, you need to consider versions, compatibility, and distribution requirements.
It was originally created by the software company Android Inc., but in 2005 Google acquired the company and two years later introduced the operating system.
Just one year later, the first mobile phone with this system, the HTC Dream, reached the market, and it went on sale in October 2008. Today, there are more than one billion phones and tablets in the world running this operating system.
It is a customizable, easy-to-use system that works perfectly with Google apps, the company says on its official website.
The fact that it turns practically any phone into a mobile device makes it convenient for users, and the fact that it is open source makes it easier for manufacturers and developers to use.
